Saudade
Saudade is a word in Portuguese with no direct English translation. It describes a deep emotional state of longing — a mix of nostalgia, absence, and love for something or someone no longer present. This portrait series explores that feeling through the lens of international students far from home. Using flags, traditional clothing, and personal symbols, each image captures a story of identity, memory, and quiet resilience.
